IILA hosted an impactful Editors’ Forum in Nairobi, designed to strengthen collaboration between public health advocates and senior media professionals. The forum highlighted the crucial role of media in supporting efforts to eliminate industrially produced trans fats (iTFAs) from Kenya’s food system.
The event brought together editors from various media organizations and featured sessions led by experts from IILA and @incubatorghai. Discussions centered around how media can drive awareness through investigative journalism, health features, and consistent public messaging on the risks of iTFAs.
Editors provided valuable feedback on simplifying health communication, the importance of timely updates from the health sector, and building long-term partnerships with health experts.
This forum marked a key milestone in positioning media as a proactive ally in advancing public health goals. IILA remains committed to continued engagement with the press in the fight for a healthier Kenya
