Launched in December 2023, the Food Policy Project aims to reduce non-communicable diseases (NCDs) through effective front-of-pack food labeling and stronger food regulation policies in Kenya. With support from the Ministry of Health and active stakeholder engagement, the project achieved several milestones in the first quarter of 2025
Led the development and stakeholder review of front-of-pack warning label (FOPWL) regulations.
Held a strategic media training workshop resulting in three key outputs: a media action plan, strategy document, and monitoring framework.
Executed the nationwide #FoodPolicyKE digital campaign, reaching over 1 million people and generating over 43 million impressions online.
These efforts are part of a broader commitment to ensure that every Kenyan can make informed decisions about the food they consume. We hope to have the adoption of the Kenya National Public Health Policy (KNPM) with MoH alignment.
