     May 31, 2025

The Ministry of Health, Kenya commemorated #WorldNoTobaccoDay2025 with a week-long series of activities in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County — culminating in a national event on May 31 under the theme “Unmasking the Appeal: Exposing Industry Tactics on Tobacco and Nicotine Products.” From May 26–30, the International Institute for Legislative Affairs (IILA) was honoured to support this national effort by leading targeted training sessions focused on:

    - Strengthening enforcement of tobacco control laws

    - Advancing effective policy implementation

    - Exposing and addressing tobacco industry interference

These trainings brought together county enforcement officers, public health officials, civil society actors, youth and other key partners committed to creating a tobacco and nicotine free future for Kenya. We remain dedicated to supporting government-led efforts through policy advocacy, strategic partnerships, and capacity building, ensuring that public health always comes before profit.
